Nikola Jokic recorded his 200th regular-season triple-double on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, with 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in Denver’s 104-91 win at New Orleans. He is only the second player in NBA history to reach 200, and he now sits nine behind Russell Westbrook’s all-time record of 209.
Nikola Jokic has 200 regular-season triple-doubles as of October 30, 2026. Only Russell Westbrook (209) has more. Jokic needs 9 more to tie the record and 10 to break it.
How Jokic got to 200
Number 199 came on Saturday, October 24, when Jokic put up 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists as Denver erased a 23-point deficit to beat the Pelicans 141-135 in overtime. We had him one short of 200 in our NBA Week 1 review, and it took him only two more games.
Denver led 37-18 after the first quarter and never trailed. Jamal Murray scored 23, Aaron Gordon added 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Christian Braun hit big threes late to hold off a Pelicans push. Zion Williamson led New Orleans with 25.
The timing was neat, too. Per DNVR Sports, the game came 11 years to the day after his NBA debut. It also got Denver back on track after Monday’s loss to Golden State and moved the Nuggets to 2-2.
The all-time triple-double leaders
A triple-double means reaching 10 or more in three stat categories in one game, usually points, rebounds and assists. Here is where the career list stands.
| Rank | Player | Regular-season triple-doubles |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Russell Westbrook | 209 |
| 2 | Nikola Jokic | 200 |
| 3 | Oscar Robertson | 181 |
| 4 | Magic Johnson | 138 |
| 5 | LeBron James | 125 |
| 6 | Jason Kidd | 107 |
| 7 | Luka Doncic | 90 |
The gap between second and third is now 19, and it will only grow. Oscar Robertson held the record for decades with 181. Jokic passed him and then kept going, and nobody else on the list is anywhere near catching either of the top two.
Jokic got there much faster than Westbrook
This is the number that shows how fast Jokic has done it. According to ESPN, Jokic reached 200 in his 814th regular-season game, while Westbrook needed 1,175 games to get there.
| Player | Games to reach 200 | Draft slot |
|---|---|---|
| Nikola Jokic | 814 | 41st pick, 2014 |
| Russell Westbrook | 1,175 | 4th pick, 2008 |
That is 361 fewer games, about four and a half full seasons. And Jokic does it as a center. Westbrook piled up his triple-doubles as a point guard who chased rebounds; Jokic gets his assists running the offense from the high post. Two very different routes to the same number.
ESPN also points out that Jokic has 200 triple-doubles for Denver while every other Nuggets player in history combined has 79. Sixteen of his have come against New Orleans, more than against any other team.
When could Jokic break the record?
Westbrook’s total is now fixed. He announced his retirement on August 12, 2026, after 18 seasons, so 209 is a finish line, not a moving target.
Jokic had 34 regular-season triple-doubles last season. At that rate, 10 more is less than a third of a season’s work. Our take: if he stays healthy, he passes Westbrook well before the All-Star break, and a December record night is realistic. Denver’s games against weak defensive teams will speed it up, as New Orleans just showed.
Next up is Friday night, October 30, at Phoenix, which is also Denver’s first game of the Emirates NBA Cup group stage. The Nuggets then host Portland on Monday.
